Publishing your changes

Everything you change in your website's editor is saved as a draft. The live site that your customers see doesn't change until you publish, so you can edit in your own time, walk away, and come back to finish later without anything half-done showing up online.

How to publish

1. When you're happy with your changes, look for the publish button in the editing panel.
2. Click it and confirm. Your site republishes with everything you've saved.
3. Give it a moment, then check the live site.

Everything publishes together

Publishing pushes out every saved draft on the site, not just the page you've been working on. That's worth knowing if you've made changes across a few pages over a few days: they all go live at once.

It cuts the other way too. If you've started a change you're not sure about, don't leave it sitting there as a draft, because it'll ride along next time you or anyone else publishes. Either finish it, undo it, or ask us to look at it.

If you can't see your change on the live site

• Refresh the page. Your browser often shows you a saved copy of a page rather than fetching it fresh. Refreshing once or twice usually does it.
• Give it a minute. Publishing takes a little time to flow through, especially to visitors in other parts of the world.
• Check the change was actually published. It's easy to save a draft and close the tab thinking the job's done. Log back in and check whether the editor is still showing unpublished changes.
